River Ridge Pot Luck Barbeque Set for Saturday, June 30, 2012

Come out, meet your neighbors, and join in the fun for another great gathering at our clubhouse and pool. Meet and greet begins at 5:00pm, and dinner starts at 6:00pm.

As we did last year, we’re extending the list of things for attendees to bring to include packages of hot dogs, packages of hamburgers, packages of buns (for those who don’t like barbeque or want both) as well as sodas, side dishes and desserts. As in the past, the party is BYOB. Rodney Wedge and John Lewis will be providing BBQ brisket and BBQ pork (smoked on their Big Green Eggs).

Community Pool Now Open

Thanks to an unusually warm spring, the community pool is opening a bit early this year. The pool opened mid-April, and members in good standing may use their magnetic key cards to access the pool area.

For everyone's safety and enjoyment, please take a few minutes to review the pool guidelines before you dive in.

911 -- It's Not Just for Emergencies

For Johns Creek, 911 is the number to call for any issues that may require police and/or other personnel. Our PACT (Police And Citizens Together) contact Officer Meberg has encouraged all River Ridge residents to call 911 whenever they need to report information or request assistance.

"Our 911 call center is staffed to help with both emergency and non-emergency calls. They're available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and can immediately get your call to the appropriate responder," Meberg explained. He also explained that if you are calling from a cell phone, it may be helpful to tell the 911 operator that you are in Johns Creek. While this information is immediately displayed for landline phones, the location info displayed for cellphones may vary.

Meberg encouraged all River Ridge residents to sign up for Smart911

Smart 911 provides Johns Creek residents with the ability to enter important information on a 100 percent private and secure website that will help first responders address any future emergency they may have.

Examples of information you can provide are:

• Medical conditions / Physical Challenges
• Children's photos
• Your address
• Emergency contacts
• Location of bedrooms and number of people in your house
• Pet information
• Any other information, which you want to make sure police, fire or EMS are aware of.
